lcd specification

Hi All,
How can i use this lcd? It has 16 pin not 14.

1602b seems to be a standard LCD type.
Take a look here: https://www.crystalfontz.com/products/1602b/ .
It should connect and work the same as the one on your picture.
Pins 15 and 16 are usually used for LED backlight - if present, else it is not used.

Regards, yego

well it seems tat u r not worried abt the 1 - 14 pin, connect them as usual, pin 15 and 16 is for the baklit light of the lcd, connect 15 to ground and 16 to the 5 V for the baklit

regards

Uhmm

DONT connect the backlight directly to 5V.

Most backlights are designed to be used with a transistor switch , and don't like more that 4.2..4.3v
Either use a Resistor to 5v . or a diode (remember current might be like 300ma , so use a suitable diode)

ya i forgot to mention abt the reisistance :D thx bingo, or u can use a pot to control the brithness of the baklit

good luck
