Hi,

I'm trying to find the earliest published papers or books on the topic of inductance. I have the book called 'Inductance Calculations' by Grover but I want to dig a bit deeper.

There are a lot of equations in this book but I would like to know how they were derived. Where did Grover get his material from?

Does anyone have any earlier papers, articles or web links that can help me out?

Thanks for your time

i would recommend Feynman Lectures-vol 2(Electromagnetism) to get to the very root of the concept of inductance.
