A boost converter makes it possible to step up 12V to 24-48 VDC.
You can turn a mosfet on and off, to obtain pulsed output from a DC supply.
What methods have you tried so far?
I have tried transformer but there is big power loss and also need to pulse. I am new to electronics. Learning by making small projects. Do you have a link to schematic.
Thanks
I mean I connected directly from the engines alternator then to the transformer. What I am concerned is the loses.e same dC boost have some loses as the system I tried
Although a raw alternator produces AC, the alternator in your car has diodes which rectify it into DC. (I assume yours is a normal system.)
Therefore do you get DC from your alternator, or AC ? This is important because a transformer works on AC, not DC.
Since you have a transformer, it is efficient to step up 12V to 48V via a transformer. But you must apply AC. This can be done with a full H-bridge.
Your output spec is 144 W (48V x 3A). To provide this, you need to draw 12 A (average) from your battery. Add 15 percent to make up for losses.
Hello everyone, I need to make 24 to 48 volts; 3 amp maximum from a 12 volt battery. Variable frequency
Thanks for helping up
you cannot design a circuit without specs.
What exact device or output impedance vs frequency and V(t) supposed to look like. e.g. rise time, PW50 pulse width, tail time? What does I(t) look like ideally? WHat power limits?
What frequency range? or rather pulse repetition range?
WHat is purpose?
