Please help me by suggesting the best (most efficient) topology for my design. I'm hoping for 70%+ efficiency.
I need to generate +100v and -100v from a single 8v battery. Max load on the 100v rails will be 180 mA pulsed and 5 mA average.
I have considered a boost and buck-boost for the +100 -100 respectively but I wonder if a transformer would be more efficient?
If I did have a transformer, I could use a switch controller to drive the primary and have 2 secondaries. What would be a good frequency to switch at and why?
