Microwave- esplanation of the meaning of the term

Microwave

Microwave refers the em wave having frequency range from 1 to 30 GHz.The corresponding wavelengths ranging from 30 cm to 1 mm . According to this view we tell this millimeter wave but why you tell this microiwave????

For the same reason that you name “milestone” not only a mile marker, but also a point that actually is placed every kilometer.

Microwave refers to he frequency range from 3GHz to 300GHZ and hence the name!
