In an LR circuit, y1 is the channel to the CRO which connects to inductor, y2 is the another channel to CRO which connects to the resistor. Both of them have a common ground connection to the power supply. Of course we know that in an LR circuit, the voltage leads the current by a phase angle fi. However, if we interchange the channel y2 and the common ground connection, a surprising result happens, that is the current of the circuit leads the voltage by 90 degrees. Could you help me to explain this?

Thank you.
