few days back only I listed few good books on Optical networking in this forum.
Rapidshare link for some of these are available in the forum and some of them are yet to be uploaded. If you need i can give the list once again, but sorry I don't have soft copies.

what filed of optical network is good for you
optical network has diffrent filed
for example device on optical fber same as router swich sdh pdh and dwdm ...
or fiber optic technology same an mm fiber or sm fiber or nz fiber
or other filed you must first reconize this subject and deep on that

As rightyl said it's a vast area having many different fields so you indicate your choice of preferential fields. Earliar I have posted a link for a book on emerging trends and technologs in optical networking. Hope you have gone thru it.
A few literature I am uploading here about fiber optic which reader would find interesting.
