There are several ways to design pwm. Btw, you can just design a comparator for the pwm.

Yup, it depends on the application.

I have designed a pwm for a boost converter before using, 8038 for the sawtooth and a comparator ( cannot remember ) but if you want, tell me, i'll look it up for you.

How about working with AS3842/UC3842 controller... This is the only available in our place...?
