Looking for a RFID transceiver with 10 cm range

Is there an RFID transceiver that has a range of about 10cm? Is there a cheap and small programmable microprocessor? Are there any sample circuits for these? What would be a good and cheap USB RF transciever?

Look around for a PROMAG RFID module .They give a range from 8 cm upto 20 cm. The data could be 10 characters for each tag and you can choose between ASCII,WIEGAND..... data o/p.
