Hi Guys,

I have a basic doubt. Is it possible to lint netlist files using spyglass?? My doubt is: Linting is generally done to clear any syntax errors so as to facilitate easy synthesis by the synthesis engine. If it is so, what is the use of linting the outcome of the synthesis engine which is gate level structure.

please Guide.

Thanks in advance,
Sk

I don't think anyone would want to lint netlist files. Linting is only done to catch syntax errors or undesirable code structures or any special cases that one may want to avoid. Since the netlist contains only the primitives/cell instances, linting it wouldn't serve any real purpose.
