For example, during the converting, the analog signal is sampled each clk period?

Thanks!!!

But I want to known if the internal circuit of chip has hold circuit.

If there isn't hold circuit in a chip, the analog signal applied to chip will be sampled every clock edge.

In sigma-delta ADC, you wouldn't need a hold circuit since sampling frequency >> input frequency.

i work adc 820 flash without any micro

thanks everyone!!!

0804 requires no hold circuits. it keeps the digital values constant while the next sampling is being done.

Modern SAR ADC's do not require any hold circuit. That is because they rely on charge redistribution (capaictors) to do the conversion. Thus, the hold function is "inherent". For more info read this document: https://focus.ti.com/lit/an/slyt176/slyt176.pdf

if u talk abt the high speed ( like 1 gs/s) then there will be no need to s/h cicuit.

Sigma delta ADC don't need sample/hold circuits

very high speed flash sometime neednt a s/h circuit.

ex:1Gs/s.

regards!
