Hi I was just wondering , the average price I see on pages like RS components, digikey, or Mouser for the chip is about 3-4 USD or about 3 eur. for a piece.
now a local parts store near my town has 1.80 eur for that chip per piece.
I am just curious could it be that their selling counterfeit or is just everyone else overpricing?

i've used the cheap ones before and basically nothing's wrong except some ringing etc but i'm not sure is that the chip's fault or my circuit.if the transistors go dead the chip dies with them.

the chip in question is the 14 pin PDIP version.
any insight?

Hi,

Basically price will vary as per quantity ordered. Digi-key and other sources, if you order in bulk you will get better price.

Local shops product can't be guaranteed to be reliable.
