hi everyone

i am beginner in embedded system and haven't much experience at all. currently i have selected a project that aims to perform is:
interfacing gps and gsm with single pic controller. i am using pic 18f458. it has only one serial port for data transfer. so it can get data from either gps or gsm at a time.
but i need both working simultaneously.

i have no idea what to do..
your help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
thanking in advance.

regards
baltee

Use MUX for Tx and Rx pins of GSM and GPS. But still it'll be just like a half duplex. either GPS or GSM can accessed at a time. But you can switch from GSM to GPS either way...

If you need both running at all the moment, You need 2 UART channels...
