What is your opinion, which microcontroller series are better and why?

I have an experience with ATmega series, and I am satisfied with that, but I can see there are a lot of people who use only PIC.

How you are made choice and how you make a choice when you start to develop some embedded system?

hi,
Nice Qn...Most of the people used the PIC. I feel, Because of the application and easy to handle and clear Instructions. The Pic, AVR IC's cost is less compared ARM.So most people not used ARM. Most important it, the way of study/Learn. Initially started with 8051, then move to PIC... AVR ... like that... always difficulty wise, FIRST IS BEST.. So only mostly PIC suitable for somebody...
