Hi,
We are doing a booster for 18vin, 58vout, 480Wout, 100kHz
Inductor current is 24.7Vrms

There is no inductor offTheShelf for us.
So we choose Torroid MP-250205-2 (OD = 63mm).
We wind 10 turns of 12 strands of AWG22 (0.65mm diam) enamel copper wire.

This gives us 3W cu loss, and 1.7W core loss.
Inductance is 70uH at 0A, to 45uH at 25A

Its a huge chunking great thing.
Is there any better torroids you can speak to us about?

Pg 71 = Torroid MP-250205-2

{BTW, we will be putting six of these boosters in parallel, with droop sharing (vout programmed to fall as I(out) rises)}

Thanks i wanted to use kool mu (AKA Micrometals sendust or "MS"), but on the micrometals site calculator i end up with a bigger inductor when using "MS".
But yes, kool mu doesnt contain zinc so its much chepaer than molypermally, which i picked, but i will just have to take the hit, since the kool mu solution was quite a bit bigger.
