FFT & DCT

Hi i am a newbie in the field of fpga and dsp

i got a spartan-IIIE kit and i learned verilog and built small educational digital designs using it

now i have a new chanllegne i need to implement FFT & DCT

and i am totally lost please any body help me telling what should i do , read , or learn frist

any ideas are really appreciated

Have you had a look at www.opencores.org yet? You will find quite a few useful implementations of may common hardware systems.
This is a good place to start
