hi guys i need help for using hyperterminal in win xp for interfacing to fpga.
(virtex 2pro).

i'm a novice and i hav a few questions that in not clear about:

1. when i click on send text file.is the entire text file transmitted or is it a single character.

2.is there any commands to be used in hyperterminal for transmitting single character at a time.

3.can anyone giv me exact details on using powerpc for rs232 communication.

I have a VHDL code of a tx containing
TX=serial to parallel converter - fft block(8bit input) -parallel 2 serial converter
RX=parallel 2 serial converter - ifft block(8bit input) -serial to parallel converter

i want to type characters on one hyperterminal session and display the same characters on the other hyperterminal session.

can anyone please help
