How to start working with ezDSP kit F2812?

hi everyone.
i'm new to this community.

I have a ezDSP kit, F2812. I have to send information from a PIC microcontroller to the DSP. But I have never worked with a DSP before. Can anyone suggest me how to start working with a DSP.
