How to run layout -IC5.0? run layoutplus orders ,open`s CIW window?

first, you have to create a library or use an existing one, then create a cell, when you create it, choose virtuoso as tool on the create cellview dialogue form. Cadence will open a new layout window.
Good luck.

Hi,
There is a very good tutorial for layout and layout Plus in IC50 documentation called "Cell Design Tutorial", i highly recommend it as a start,
index:
* Copying the Tutorial Database
* Starting the Cadence Software
* Opening Designs
* Displaying the mux2 Layout
* Setting Layer Visibility
* Measuring Distances
* Changing to a Previous Zoom or Pan Image
* Using Help
* Using the Help Button
* Exiting the Cadence Software

OK!I see!THX!

or you can check this link ..
**broken link removed**

sorry for the double post this link ..
I just want to be helpful .

Layout tutorial is at
(cadence IC5 installed directory)/tools/dfII/samples/tutorial/le/cell_design
copy the whole directory to your working directory
cd to cell-design directory
start icfb at this directory
and play with it

one problem, the I get errors(fprint/aprint or somin) in the simulater when using vdd! as a pin in the layout, I have to name it vdd without the exclamation. Also the vdd! and gnd! dont appear as global inputs in the simulater as they do in when using simulating schematics.
