How to model a square pyramid ?

Hi Folks,

I am trying to model a Pyramid on top a substrate for my simulations.
I tried to draw a triangle using polyline and then create surface. (see attached) However i am not able to assign material to such surfaces.

Any though on how i can draw a pyramid and assign a material to it.

NOTE: I do not have any CAD software. Importing from CAD is not an option.
