impedance measurement

how do we measure the impedance of a ckt without using an analyzer? can u help me finding the input impedance of this ckt?

Regards and thanks in advance

Re: impedance measurement

Of course, in order to perform a measurement, some instruments are needed.

Otherwise you cannot know the impedance of your circuit with a computer simulation because the circuit contain variable components (variable capacitors).

If you are interested to the reflection coefficient module only and if you have a generator look at the following solutions:

You may use, for example, an SWR meter, a popular and cheaper instrument used by amateur radio, the most populr is the "Bird" and may be found on the surplus market.

Another way is the use of a directional coupler, a diode detector and a voltmeter. MiniCircuits sell cheaper couplers.

there is another way.

Re: impedance measurement

Hi Alll,

Can you use Birds new BDS system to measure input and out impedance of circuits at power?

Bird Technologies introduces the Bird Diagnostic System (BDS); a non-intrusive, real-time RF signal diagnostic system for in-situ measurement of RF power, impedance, phase and complex waveforms. This breakthrough, a combination of state-of-the-art instrumentation and in-line sensors

Seems worth looking into
