i want to measure how much an EL lamp consumes current. it works with 100VAC and lamps equivalent is a capacitor. i want to learn the way to measure the current.
regards.

Clip an oscilloscope current probe around the lead wire. Here's one:

Very convenient, but rather expensive. You may not need a DC-coupled probe for this particular measurement, but you'll want one for other measurements.

hi
I work in power eng. filds.
To mesure current of Cap. ,in many protection relay,
they take a sample of cap. voltage and then they calculate K*dv/dt .In a cap I=c dv/dt
