how to build a position sensor?

Do anyone have any idea how is the schematic diagram looks like for a potentiometer to act as a position sensor? I need to connect this potentiometer to a TMS320F2812 DSP board....anyone have any idea to this problem???

make potentiometer

Potentiometer -> Op Amp -> ADC port of TMS320F2812 DSP board

how to make position potentiometer

If the potentiometer value is less than ,say, 5 to 10k you can connect potentiometer between 0 and 5V (or whatever supply is on the board) and it directly to A/D input. Also, I would connect 5,1V ZDiode and 100nF capacitor (just in case...)
