What tests are you doing. One standard one is a ramp to look for missing codes and monotonic behavior. Another is two or three sine waves to look for intermodulation distortion. A real tough test is a noise power ratio using the real analog telephone testers put out by Marconi many years ago.
I would like to check for the signal-to-noise ratio of a 14-bit ADC, so I am thinking a 16-bit sinewave source will be good for the purpose. I will also need to check for IM distortion with 2 sine wave sources.
