How to interface a ADC with a system?

Hardware interfacing

if i want to interface a ADC with a system what i hav eto do please guide me regarding this

system means what??
If assumed a microprocessor/controller , u have to decide the expected accuracy.
before ADC u may need to add some amplifier and signal conditioning circuit.
In most of the ADC u have to give some signal to select channel and start conversion and wait for end of conversion ,when u get the end of conversion , the measured analog signal in digital form can be ready to read .
for example for 8bit ADC and analog reference is 5V , then the measured analog inputl will be = ( read value from ADC * 5000 )/ 256 millivolt.(256 -> 2^8)
