How to download a google map of a city?

Hi i need to download google maps of my city, and also please guide me in this project
Make a circuit having gps reciever module connected to LCD on which the the google geographical map of a city is displayed and the current position of the car is marked on the map such that giving a live feeling.

How can i make this possible.

GPS map is not free. you need to pay for the download of the maps
