gray mapping

I have to make a BER simulation in 256-QAM constellation.
I have 16-QAM, 64-QAM mapping rules, bu thowever, for 256-QAM
I am not sure what to do, where to start.

Does anybody can help me how to assign bits to the symbols in 256-QAM.

Thanks for advance.

256 qam

i also have same confusion.plz send 64-QAM,16-QAM coding if u have for my clarification.

qam mapping

gayathri 16=2^4
64=2^6
so 16 qam needs 4 bits
and 64 qam needs 6bits

refer B.p.lathi which gives fine details

Added after 10 minutes:

for 256 qam rf signal

the mapping requires 8 bits....

qam 256

i working with qam signal

can any one help how create 64 qam signal and how to convert 16 qam using matlab code and as well as theoritically........

256 qam mapping

I need 16-QAM, 64-QAM mapping rules.. pls help me......

64qam gray

i've a similar code, i hope you can find out which u want to simulate

gray mapping for 64 qam

hello kishor..

did u got the coding for i6 qam and 64 qam mappinng rule?

please send me if u have....

thanks kishore...

do u need how to generate 16 qam and 32 qam?
if u want it reply me...

64 qam gray

Hi satish,
I have a pdf which describes about using non squaed signal space diagram(signal constellations) where they described the method about deriving
8QAM from 16-QAM,
32-QAM from 64 QAM... so on.... WITHOUT DEMODULATION

I think ,
if it is possible to deduce the lower order modualtion from the very next higher order modulations.... one can use this method to deduce 16-bit (gray coded) QAM from 64-bit QAM.......

I am uploaded.... the doc..... just have a look

If you like the material..... It will healthier if we start this discussion ...

REG: FIRST THEOERITICAL ASPECT AND CODING ASPECT.....

happy learning
