What software tool? VB? VC? Labview?
where can I find relative materials about developing GCS?
Who can give me some advice about portable GCS concept design?

Your question really cant be answered with specifics. You can use any software tool you want.

As for materials on building a ground control station for a UAV; I have not seen any though that does not mean there are not out there.

Lets face it, a UAV is just a fancy remote controlled airplane that has a greater range then the toy versions. UAVs that are in use today are controlled via a satellite connection and a much more advanced remote control unit.

I would say start with a search of this site and the internet if this is something you really are interested in.

hi .... i am planning to do a project in UAV.

i don't think that softwares have a great role in making it. Our plan is to control the movement using a microcontroller based emmbedded circuit just connected to the computer through serial or USB. its for just transmittingg the control signal from the Base to UAV. This Controller is producing the signal for directions and that is transmited through a Long range antenna. usually radio signals ( FSK modulation)

This is just the transmssion part.

From the UAV we have a primary plan to get High defenition Video to the base. Some streaming methods wil have to use there. even if the connection breaks the rest of the signals should reach the base. For that we will be using Ghz range frequency. and the dish antenna is something like auto locking the position of the UAV according to the movement of it.

About the dish : Auto locking is done with the help of a microcontroller and sequence of bits transmitted through a low frequency radio wave. its another section. a comaprison is done with the help of sensors connected to the controller (sensors are kept at a distance in order to find the difference between the distance traveled by the sequence signal and adjust the dish antenna to it. GPS )

After receving the signals from he UAV through the specialised Dish antenna as i told. Using a digital receiver we can reproduce the signal.

we use a VB program to watch the Video input from the receiver to the computer using a tunner and to make a automated routine fly and mapping.

things are little messy ... ;-)

I'm very interested in the information above.
But it will be better that it can be more detailed, or you can provide some relative materials and references.
