I have 1V AC signals mixed with 9V DC offset signal.

These signals have to be coupled to a ADC which only accept 1V AC signal.

May I only use a capacitor connected between signal source and ADC to take out 9V DC offset?

Thank you for your answers.:-o

Re: ADC and DC offset

not necessary! you should shift the dc level to adc commode voltage

Re: ADC and DC offset

You can capacitor couple and use a DC clamp or OP amp to remove the offset.

Re: ADC and DC offset

You need to ac couple to remove the dc component, and use the reference voltage most ADCs provide to bias its input. Put simply, one pin of the capacitor goes to your input signal, the other goes to the ADC input and also to a resistor that connects to Vref.
This will let you use the whole dynamic range of your ADC.
