hi all;

i want to supply a microstrip antenna with a planar dipole patch in HFSS.
(as you see in this figure)
notes :
1- the feed must locate at center and suplly symetrically both arms
2- the feed must be wave or lumped port , because i need input impedance
i don't know which method is the best excitation for this structure ? and how should be supplied ?

wave port or lumped port ?

60 point award is for the best reply (i don't have more)

Re: How should i feed this antenna [50 point award]

I think it shouldn't consider as a dipole antenna,but a microstrip antenna! It maybe act as an array to solve,but I'm sorry,I don't know how to do it!If you can solve it,please tell me ,thanks!

hi marshal,

if your structure doesn't have ground plane you could supply it easily by lumped gap port but now it is realy hard. i realy don't know how are you able to feed this antenna by hfss when it has ground plane!!!!????

I think you required this stracture, but i don't know how do you use exactly lumped or wave port to simulate it.
