How is first figure drawn here in fuzzy logic? I know how second figure is drawn tho.

what i know about fuzzy logic does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling
but i'll jump in head first anyway.

the drawing on the left shows the individual functions uA and uB
their "fuzzyness" lies in the range of values (0 to 1) shown in the individual graphs

the drawing on the right shows their union, according to the rule that you
use the maximum of either A or B to gt the union thereof.
its "fuzziness" likewise lies in the range of values (0 to 1) shown in the "max" graph.
 

The math above is self explanatory, as is the text itself as long one is able to understand the meaning of max operator in the expression. Just another one of those lazy questions.
