hi i need help - a weight converter how to start ?

hi i need help.

hi.. im really desperate because i have this project and it's due this coming friday (dec.5,2008). it may be easy for you... a unit converter... a weight converter to be exact. i really have no idea how to start and if it's possible to be user-input. to be honest.. i only have background in the different kinds of modeling. so can you help me pls?

just software.. using verilog. btw.. how to declare a floating point? and is it possible to be user-input? for example.. i have to select from the ff units of input right? how can i select? can i select using case statement? and how am i going to input a value if for example i chose Kg.. all output must be shown in the cmd prompt(cmd.exe)...
