hfss - help me in the choice of excitation

Hi,
i'm working on the patch antenna, i just begin with hfss can you help me in the choice of excitation?? for example if we use wave port what is the difference if we renormelize all the mode?? there is a big difference between normelized or not???
the default value is 50 ohms??? or false because i have different value in the simulation please help me
what is the port dimension?? there is some formulla??? and the radiation ????
