3v to 5v regulator

I want to design a new boost regulator IC. Input voltage is 3v, and output voltage is 5v. I have made a simple circuitry. But it cannot drive heavy current load, I find the switch resistance is too bign (I have chosen big switch). I use the Cfly is 1u.
Could anyone hely me!
Thanks.

3v ouput regulator ic

Can u describe more about ur problem:
what current, what frequency, what inductance ...

ncp1450a board

What's current do you want?
if you need output current <1A,use mc34063 is better

discrete 3v 5v charge pump

Thanks the reply of uladz55 and alphi:

I want to output current 150mA; and I want to use the charge pump doubler architecture;the oscillator will be on-chip.Is it possible not to use inductance(whether in chip or in board)?
MC34063 is a regulator itself, I cannot use it. I design in chip not board.

switching 3v regulator

Hi,

I'm not too sure how much budget you have. Currently, I'm using less than a US$1 solution (mass production) from ON Semiconductor.

https://www.onsemi.com/site/products/summary/0,4450,NCP1450A,00.html

Take note that the efficiency is not that great as compared with other PWM controllers from Linear (88% vs 90+%). However, the price is too attractive to forgive that :)

Hope that helps

Cheers,

regulator voltage 3v to 5v input

Hi, Try maxim's MAX1676, you need only one drossel.

Best Regards.

9 to 3v regulator

hi,ME
the topic of mine is correlative to IC design, So I put it in the 'Analog IC Design & Layout' .
petarpav,

I don't want to use the regulator, just want to make sth like the max1676. thank you anyway.

Now the on resistance of switch is too big for 150mA current load, could anyone give some advise on reduce the on resistance(new architecture) ?( I have make it very large, maybe impossible in layout or the cost is high)

petarpav,
It seemed to me you were trying to design a switched mode circuit using an exsisting IC and not design an new IC for switched mode. Am I wrong about this? Are you designing an IC?

Re: Help:switching regulator (input 3v, output 5v)

as i undestood u design chip of charge-pump DC2DC with 150mA output current.

Usually charge-pump dc2dc are used for low current applications.

What process do u use?

For CMOS u can only increase W/L ratio.

I am sorry not express it clearly. I'm designing a new IC.

hi,uladz55
Yes,I want to desgin dc2dc with 150mA current in SC circuit.
But in boost regulator, I must to use charge pump( if not inductor)

I havn't determine which process to adopt now.

Headline and first sentence in your original post have been edited to make clear you are designing an IC and not a circuit.
Please be more specifc next time you start a topic, reading the answers many was of the opinion you were designing a circuit and not an IC.

Re: Help: designing switching regulator IC (input 3v, output

intusoft ispice have many power library ..
who can share it ?

http://www.intusoft.com/models.htm

I need switch regulator discrete like Inductor value ..
like OZ960 system use switch regulator for CCFL driving ..

thank you

Re: Help: designing switching regulator IC (input 3v, output

1. you can increase the switch mos W/L
2. add the supply gate voltage of switch mos
