i m new in linux and trying to learn linux i want to run videos on linux(fedora core 6) i need help & i also need links 4 linx free downloadable video players

You can download and install xine and mplayer.

you can install mplayer after its download, which can play different kinds of video formats i.e: wmv, Dat , mp3, etc.
The installation instructions of mplayer can be found in README file of the player

Easiest is to get VLC player... get that u can see all type of videos...
Cheers!

update xine the one that comes with the distro doesn't support mpeg4 (divx) or mpeg audio (mp3), serch www.sf.net for xine :)

VLC is good. Another alternative is RealPlayer.

Download it from:
http://www.real.com/linux/

Before installing RealPlayer, make sure to have the compat-libstdc++-33 compatibility libraries installed.

$ yum install compat-libstdc++-33

Install RealPlayer:

$ rpm -ivh RealPlayer10GOLD.rpm
