more of the same bloatware or better?

My preference is windows 7 although I have a new laptop that came with windows 8 installed and I thought I should get used to it. (new technology and all that)

Windows 8 starts up and closes down very quickly, but I can’t get used to all the tiles etc on the screen and I miss the start button.

I have now downloaded and installed a free version of win 8 shell. This makes the feel of windows 8 similar to win 7 (it has the start button and it’s easy to find the control panel etc) I can revert back to windows 8 when I have a bit more patience.
