The alignment is a problem. Every fingerprint images that you take are not aligned, right? So,now is the translation problem, right?

Anyway, since all your features are distance from the core point, you can use that for alignment. Once you have the core point coordinate, you can align all the fingerprint by fixing all the fingerprint core coordinate as same. Let your core point as (0,0) for every fingerprint images.

Ive done that by setting the core to a common coordinate , but the problem is that the images are also affected by rotation and the fingerprint elastacity .

Any ideas ?

I'm doing a final year project for fingerprint authenticaion system same as urs. Can anyone please send me some documentation about how the topic? I very poor in matlab and I duno how to start work on that. Moreover, I need to buy a fingerprint reader for this projet or just MATlAB computer software based only?

I am following and the Equation 2.17 doesn't work. the N(i-u, j-v) in that formula will come to N(something, 0) where the index 0 will be out of bound for the N.

Kindly can someone help me out!! i am working on fingerprint enhancment project and have to do it in matlab....do any one have such codes of matlab so that i can load an image,,,,add padding,,,normalize the image,,,,apply lowpass filter or notch filter or gabor filter or any filter so that can get a enhanced image and then have to match it with another imgae via correlation and have to compute the correlation percentage!!

My final year project is to make a Biometric (fingerprint/face recognition) based digital lock system, which I have to build from scratch! I mean not using any ready made biometric scanner or reader. Using electronics engineering concept do go ahead!

I am stuck in the project. Don't really know how to make the fingerprint scanner or how to apply face recognition system. Can I get help from you, please? I can bear any expences u will ask.

my idea is for problm solving for alignment or rotation is ...after locating all minutia's u get there direction of alignment so though the fingerprint is rotated the relative direction of minutia's with each other will be same....i hope u understood.
if possible i will post a image which will u u a clear idea
