Re: help on fpga

Here's a good site:

https://www.fpga4fun.com/index.html

Are you interested in FPGA's for work or for fun? Do you really need to start with FPGA's?

If it's for fun and you don't really need FPGA's huge capabilities, investigate CPLD's instead. Much cheaper to get into, not as many pins to solder, but can be programmed in much the same way.

Re: help on fpga

The design warriors guide is a good starting point about FPGA. But it would not teach you any thing about actual implementation. You must get a book that teaches FPGA based design from ground up.

VHDL programming by example ( available here)

is such a book . Teaches you how to design a microporocessor on altera FPGA.

You can also look up the following:

& for starting xilinx ISE webpack is available from Xilinx site.
