hey i'm new to placement n floorplannin....can anyone suggest some good books.....thank u in advance

Floorplanning is an optional methodology that you can use to improve the performance of your automatically placed and routed design. Floorplanning is particularly useful on structured designs and data path logic. The Floorplanner helps you to determine where to place logic in the floorplan for optimal results. For example, you can place data paths at the desired location on the die.

I would sugesst u to take any synthesis toll u have (e.g ISE Xilinx) and read the help manuals and get started. There is a tool in synthesis software called floorplanner. Using that tool u can understand a great deal....

refer some books on VLSI Physical Design Automation.. There you may get to know all the kind of floorplan & placement types available in industry..
