hi..

can anyone tell about floating inputs and floating outputs? why they called so?
what do they do actually?

Thanks,
chandra.

floating inputs and outputs means these ports not connected any other module , always we need to let floating inputs to combine to some constant value!

Floating outputs are not as much of a problem to you compared to floating inputs, which would need to be pulled up or down to a defined state.

Hi why are floating inputs should not be there could some body tell the reason ???

A disconnected input is prone to pick up static charges and ambient magnetic fields.

This includes 60 cycle hum. The output may be a 60 Hz square wave!

It can upset the operation of circuitry.

Can i get more information how it picks up charges can you direct me to some material please :)
