Does anybody know about Octave Codes and how to run it.

Octave Code

You can run octave codes exactly the same way you run matlab M Files. You should have a successful instalation of octave (under linux) although some built-in matlab functions are not supported in octave.

if yes, it is an improved spectrum analyzing method with unequal frequency bands

Octave is mostly Matlab compatible, so if you have Matlab, you should be able to download and run the octave examples in Matlab
