Hello,

I am trying to send data between 2 devices, non of them is a PC.

The first one read data from DDR2 SDRAM memory. I want to send this data to the second device using an Ethernet connectivity.

(The hardware is implemented on FPGA development board.)

My question is:

Can we directly send the data between the two devices using raw Ethernet frames without using the TCP/IP stack.

Thanks & Regards

I think you can.
TCP/IP is based on raw ethernet frame.
You just need to write a simple protocol for your application.

As unaided said, you can do this. You should have some simple error checking mechanism.

One of the advantages of not using TCP/IP is that you will have much more bandwidth, which will normally be used by TCP/IP packet headers. Plus, you have two channels of twisted pair at your disposal. both of them can be used of unidirectional communication, which can further improve the bandwidth.
