Error while programing PIC 16F88 (ICD0161: Very Failed)

hiya!

I m trying to prograqm 16f88 and m getting ICD0161: Verify failed (MemType = Program, Address = 0x0, Expected Val = 0x186, Val Read = 0x3FFF) as error when m verifying it!
its been a hassel to write the code cause m new to pic! if anyone can help asap will be awesome

Hi,
Do not get worried, it only means the programmer has failed to propgram the chip. Reasons may be many, including a remote chance of your chip being bad, but not defenitely your code, since your programmer does not validate your code.I just chanced to Google on "ICD0161" and found there are many in your boat. One of the solutions emerged just by replacing the battery with a mains cable, the problem was due to low voltage. Please check for this problem in your case and if it does not solve, follow other links with Google Bar.
