hi,

i am using a 20x4 character lcd module, pins 15 and 2 connect to +5 vdc, i would like to power up this lcd using a pic output, and a npn transistor.

Is this possible?, the lcd draws 60 ma without backlight and 150 ma with backlight.

could anyone post the circuit, ?

thanks
a

from the Uc connect a 1k resistor with the base of any npn transistor (2222 will do),connect the collector with 7805's 5v i.e pin 3,and connect a 1k resistor with the emitter of 2222 and ground the other part, from the emitter u'l get the desired output i.e 5v provided that you have given the output high from the microcontroller. :)
