Hi friends i am working on emotion recognition and i am a rookie,so please suggest me a best way to recognize emotion..

Off the top of my head:

Happy - Increased use of inflection (more frequency span), higher mean frequency (voice goes up)

Bored - Less deviation from mean frequency, little volume variation

Angry - Higher mean volume, higher volume spikes, deeper voice

Sad - Tendency for words to fall off at the end, both in frequency and volume.

Curious - sentences will have the characteristic rise in frequency associated with asking a question

Thanks andy...but,i haven't got the right answer as i want the matlab program for recognizing happy, sad, joy, nervousness, disgust through Support vector machine(or some other)..
