Hello,

We need to test our cheap electronic LED lights over -30C to 80C temperature.

The only solutions we can find are $10000 dollar "temperature chambers".

All we need is basically a domestic cooking oven and a freezer with a window and a porthole to pass through the thermocouple wires and electrical supply wires.

A domestic freezer costs about $100................so we will buy one of them for the cold testing........unfortunately, they dont come with glass windows........so we will need to put in a camera to see if the leds are still flashing away.

Do you know of a camera that can withstand down to -30 degrees C?

This website reviews many cameras. It may give specs as to temperature.

However is there any reason light-sensitive CdS photocells cannot do the job?

Put them inside the compartment. Each needs only two leads. Shouldn't be a problem running little wires into the compartment.

Or cut a hole in a freezer and add a window.

For sensing light, photodiodes work well, and down to very low temperatures.
