What is the difference between compressive sensing and data compression?

Data compression - after acquiring the data, we are compressing with the help of some process (which discard the unwanted data, eg: transform coding, image compression JPEG)
compressive sensing - here we are acquiring the data in compressed form itself (the emerging technology which violate the Nyquist theorem). I think it will help you.
