converting gray image to matrix

hi all...can anyone pls tell me how to convert a gray image to its equivalent matrix using matlab??
 

First of all, putting the thread in right forum helps get a reply quickly. You can move this question to "Digital Signal Processing" forum.

To answer your question, you can start looking at the usage of graycomatrix command in matlab.
