That is completely wrong. Do not confuse Instant Contiki with Cooja. Contiki-OS is a real time operating system, designed for low-power embedded systems with a minimal size footprint. It incorporated many advanced networking methods and modes.
Instant Contiki is a Ubuntu Live Image, containing the compilers and tools for working with the Contiki framework, and includes the Cooja simulator. Cooja is able to simulate WSN´s quite impressively.

But I would really also like to find some tutorials for this.
