connecting NPN output type sensor to FPGA

If I want to connect a sensor which has a 350mA npn output to a FPGA with 3.3V logic, can I simply wire the output of the sensor to the FPGA with a 4.7k pullup resistor to 3.3 V?

Assuming it is an open collector NPN, yes.
